I’ve written professionally about politics, utilities, crime and dabbled in creative writing most of my adult life. In 2011, and again in 2017, my son was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre, a rare disorder in which the body’s immune system attacks the nervous system. He’s recovered twice. Both times, this blog became both a way to communicate universally with those who cared about him; but also as a place for me to cope with the fear and uncertainty of serious illness.

I’m still trying to understand what it all means – the love, the pain, the sadness, the demons, the joy – we encounter daily. Somethings I write those thoughts out, in all their random forms. That’s what you get here.
